Middle School Band, Orchestra & Choir

Middle School Music Academy: June 23-28, 2013

The Middle School Academy will be an opportunity for middle school band, orchestra and choral musicians with a wide range of talent and experience to receive world-class instruction in a fun, relaxed and nurturing environment.  All students will be placed into a band or string orchestra setting with a nationally-renowned conductor who has experience working with this age group.  Students will attend seminars and participate in activities that train the students in the fundamentals of music and music performance.

Eligibility

The Middle School Academy is open to graduates of grades 6,7, and 8.  Enrollment is open to anyone enrolled in a school band, orchestra and/or class (max enrollment for the band is 80 students; max enrollment for the orchestra is 80 students; max enrollment for the choir is 80).  There are no auditions for enrollment.  However, there will be auditions for seating during the first full day of camp.

Fees & Deadlines

$580 residential
$350 commuter

Registration Deadline is April 1(Registration has been extended to June 3)

Deposit: $150 (Non-refundable after April 1st)

Full Camp fee is due by June 3rd.

Lost room key fee (to be collected at the time of loss):  $10-50

Lost Meal Card fee (to be collected at the time of loss):  $5-15

Property Damage (where applicable):  Case-by-case Determination

Commuter fee includes: instruction, camp T-shirt, all lunches
Residential fee includes:  instruction, camp T-shirt, room, all meals

Staff

Instruction for the High School Academy is provided by a renowned guest conductor, CU faculty members, guest artists, and graduate students in the CU College of Music.

Instruction for the Middle School Academy is provided by a renowned guest conductor, area music teachers, and undergraduate music education majors.

Parents will be held financially responsible for any and all damages caused by the student to any University of Colorado property, including College of Music facilities and CU dormitory facilities.
