Composition

Turkish composer, performer and educator Egemen Kesikli strives to promote diversity in contemporary music. His composition catalogue varies from orchestral works and concertos to chamber works featuring traditional Anatolian instruments and unconventional ensemble formations. Egemen earned a doctorate in composition at the University of Colorado Boulder College of Music and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. His mentors have included Carter Pann, Timothy Mahr, Sonia Seeman and Güher and Süher Pekinel.

In addition to his role at the College of Music, Egemen currently serves as Instructor of Music Theory at Colorado State University. When he’s not composing, performing or teaching, he enjoys cooking and collaborating on various arts projects with his family.
