Horsing Around – Straight from the set of the October 2010 performance of Carousel, these horses were designed by scenic and lighting designer, Peter Dean Beck. Among his opera credits are Falstaff, Turandot, Don Giovanni, Madame Butterfly, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Romeo et Juliette for such companies as Atlanta Opera, Virginia Opera, and Chautauqua Opera. Enjoy this fun and unique item in your home art gallery, a child’s bedroom or anywhere you’d like to start a conversation. Five horses available for auction (display stand not included).
A Night IN the Opera – Have you ever dreamed of being in an opera? This is your chance! We are offering the opportunity for a walk-on part in two of our operas during the 2011-12 season. Specific operas are still under wraps but the dates will be October 21-23, 2011 and March 9-11, 2012. Two walk-on roles are being auctioned for each of these productions and you will have the chance to dress in full costume, wig and makeup and be a part of a real CU Opera production next season.
An Affair to Remember – Grammy award-winning, producer, composer arranger, and pianist, Don Grusin, will compose a custom piece for your special occasion to be sung by our very own Leigh Holman. Whether a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion, Don and Leigh will work with you to create a tune that will be custom made just for you or that special person in your life. The event will feature the Grusin piece sung by Leigh along with a 20 minute recital in your home or private setting of your choice. Includes a framed copy of the music composition. Date to be mutually agreed upon by winning bidder. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will be an affair to remember!
