Audition Information
NOTE: These audition requirements are for students who intend to pursue a major in music. Ensemble audition information is listed on the ensemble web pages.
Undergraduate auditions are held at the College of Music on select Saturdays in January and February. Special programs and question-and-answer sessions are arranged for students and parents who wish to attend. Other audition times are available on an individual basis (contact the undergraduate office at (303) 735-2283). If travel distance is prohibitive, a high-quality audio or video recording may be substituted. Please see the Recorded Audition Guidelines for information on how to submit recorded auditions. Recordings should be received by February 15 and live auditions completed by the last Saturday audition day for students to be considered for financial assistance from the College of Music.
Auditions for Spring 2012 semester
The application deadline for the Spring 2012 semester is October 1. This is also the deadline for Spring 2012 applicants to submit preliminary recorded auditions for flute (non-Colorado residents only), voice and jazz guitar areas. Auditions will be scheduled on an individual basis.

Off-campus Auditions
This year, we will be holding off-campus auditions at Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, MI and at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, CO. We are excited about these audition opportunities, but we believe it is still important that prospective students visit the CU-Boulder campus at some point in their college search process. A recent Colorado Daily article quoted a high school student: “Online information is good, but you can’t capture college life in photos or articles on a website. You need to get a feel for the college and campus to really know which one is right for you.” If you choose to audition at one of our off-campus audition sites, we hope you will visit campus at some other time! Remember, you’ll still need to submit the applications before auditioning.

The January 29 audition date at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, CO has been cancelled due to logistical reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Before making travel plans, please confirm with us that your audition has been scheduled.
